Guidance: From the Airport

Travelling times are approximately as above with the exception of trips into the city from the airport. As drop-offs have less delays than pickups the journey is usually quicker. Early morning and evening trips to Palm Cove/Port Douglas may proceed via the City. Traffic is minimal and, discounting the congestion of the daytime trips, the transit time to Port Douglas via the city is the same as during the daylight-hours direct service (approx. 1.5 hours). Airport statistics show that first bags are arriving at the Domestic Terminal carousels between 11 minutes and one hour after aircraft arrival. There is no consistency/pattern to baggage delays and last bags can be delayed considerably longer. To this end, Exemplar staff at time of booking will assign you to the most feasible departure time based on our analysis and best estimate of ‘Ready to Depart Time’.

Guidance: To the Airport

Allowing for passenger pickups, and with moderate traffic levels and good weather, typical travelling times, are:

1.5hrs Port Douglas to Airport

45 mins Palm Cove to Airport

30 mins from far end of Cairns city to Airport

Please note, this does not factor in Check-in Time.

Please base your calculations on these figures to establish the pickup time from the timetable. If trips are likely to be longer because of adverse weather, road works or local events, etc., Exemplar will recommend a more prudent time. But please note: it is the passengers’ ultimate responsibility to stipulate their pickup time.

Movements

Arrival Procedures – Transfers

Our Airport Concierge and/or driver will meet all passengers at the relevant luggage carousel at Cairns Domestic or in the arrival hall (Customs exit) at Cairns International.

The driver will come to the collection point:

• International (Customs Exit) 30 mins post aircraft landing time, and

• Domestic (relevant carousel) 15 mins post aircraft landing time.

Concierge/driver will be holding an Exemplar sign. If the passengers cannot locate the driver they are to call Exemplar on 07 4213 3333.

Departure Procedure: Passengers are to wait adjacent to hotel reception/porte cochere for their pick up. Passengers must be ready 10 minutes prior to departure time.

Confirmations: Guests are requested to reconfirm with the office 48 hours prior to travel by calling Exemplar on 07 4213 3333.

Ages

• Adults 12 years (inclusive) and older

• Children between 2 and 11 years (inclusive)

• Infants (under 2 years) are free of charge, even if occupying a seat.

No Show/Waiting-Time/ Missed or Delayed Flights:

Non-airport, Private and Seat-in-Coach: Any party not at the booked/confirmed, place and time of pickup will be fully charged.

Airport Seat-in-Coach: Vehicle will depart at scheduled time. Pax who are late for vehicle will be assigned to next available vehicle. If there is no practicable “next available vehicle” Exemplar will assist with finding alternative transport. Either a Refund or a No-Show Fee may apply depending on the circumstances. (E.g. flight delayed/cancelled then refund; if pax slept in and missed flight then No-Show)

Excess Luggage:

The same luggage restrictions apply as per standard economy domestic flight Terms & Conditions. However, a reasonable amount of luggage beyond this will be carried for free if passenger has a seat-in-coach booking and there is space in the trailer. If passenger is in a sedan limousine and there is too much for the boot then either the luggage will be carried for free in an Exemplar coach/trailer that is headed in the same direction at the same time, or, if no coach/trailer is available then Exemplar will assist passenger in making alternative arrangements (at passenger expense).

Child seats, baby seats and baby capsules:

Cannot be fitted to seat-in-coach services (not required by law and no anchor points).

All prices are based on 2 adults and 2 children unless otherwise stated, are in Australian dollars, are correct at the time of publication & are subject to change without notice. Flights are not included unless otherwise stated & if included, are economy class unless otherwise stated. Price includes any stated bonus nights, upgrades & package savings, if applicable.
